One of the most recognizable geological landmarks in central Arizona, Weaver’s Needle is a natural monument to the Superstition Wilderness. With over 3200 feet of total elevation gain and near-constant views of the needle, this loop trail around the prominent spire tours the adjacent canyons and geological features.

Views of Weaver’s needle first appear after the popular 2-mile, 1300-foot climb through Peralta Canyon to Freemont Saddle. Continuing over the saddle into East Boulder Canyon, the Peralta Trail eventually connects with a short section of the Dutchman’s Trail, skirting the southern slope of Black Top Mesa. Turning south, the Terrapin Trail begins with a rocky climb over a pass, then gradually descends through a small basin. The Bluff Spring Trail winds in and out of late afternoon shade below interesting rock formations and the high walls of Barks Canyon before passing over a small ridge back to the trailhead.
